TMG research gGmbH is recognised as a non-profit by the tax authorities I of Berlin by a decision made on 22 May 2017. The purpose of the company is the promotion of science and research. The purpose is achieved in particular by: carrying out research projects and participating in research projects of other non-profit-making bodies; scientific direction and execution of scientific congresses, conferences, seminars or technical discussions as well as participation in comparable scientific events; publishing scientific works and supporting the transfer of scientific findings from research to politics and civil society; scientific cooperation with other scientific tax-advantaged organizations. The public will be informed about the results of the scientific activities through publications or lectures. In particular, the above activities are carried out in the following areas: environmental protection and nature conservation; climate protection, sustainability and the energy transition; energy and circular economy; soil and water as well as marine protection; transportation and urban planning; international development cooperation.
